CHSK Ltd · Batch & Bottle · For UK Drink Producers

SALSA traceability,
built from inside
a real audit.

Batch & Bottle is a production management and food safety compliance platform purpose-built for UK cocktail and drink producers — by a SALSA-certified bottling operation that sat across the table from the auditor.

Every feature was
requested by an auditor

CHSK Ltd operates a SALSA-certified cocktail bottling operation. Batch & Bottle was not designed from a specification document — it was built in direct response to what a real SALSA auditor asked to see at an annual OPRP review.

That means every module, every field, and every report has a direct counterpart in the audit evidence your assessor will request. There is no feature that exists for its own sake, and no critical requirement that was overlooked because the developer had never been audited.

The platform is aligned — not certified. Certification belongs to your food business, not to CHSK as a software provider. What we offer is the digital backbone that makes your system auditable.

60s Audit query response time

An OPRP traceability query that used to take an hour — pulling batch records, lot codes, and shipment links — now takes under 60 seconds in Batch & Bottle.

100% Built from real SALSA requirements

Every platform module maps directly to a documented SALSA, ISO, or BRCGS clause. No guesswork. No theoretical features.

0 Minimum contract term

No lock-in. Rolling monthly subscription, cancel any time. Your data is exported and returned to you within 48 hours of cancellation.

Everything included
in every tier

All modules are available to all subscription tiers. No module upgrades, no paywalled features. The difference between tiers is backup responsibility, support hours, and user seat count.

ISO 22000 §8.8 · SALSA OPRP

Batch Logging

Guided production entry with pH enforcement (min / target / max per recipe), user sign-off, and timestamped records. A batch cannot be saved if pH is out of range. Prevents out-of-spec batches from entering stock.

ISO 22005 §4.3 · SALSA §8.8

FIFO Julian Lot Code Tracking

Julian date lot codes assigned at ingredient delivery. FIFO enforcement ensures oldest lots are consumed first. Full audit trail from supplier invoice to production batch — satisfying one-step-back traceability requirements automatically.

ISO 22005 §4.2 · EU 178/2002

Ingredient Delivery Log

Records supplier, lot code, quantity, and date at intake. New ingredients can be created inline. Atomic operations prevent duplicate records. Directly supports Article 18 traceability obligations under EU Regulation 178/2002.

ISO 22005 §4.3 · SALSA §8.8

Shipment Logging

Links finished product shipments to specific production batches. Per-box content records with free-text fields for bespoke orders. Customer-linked for complete forward traceability. One-step-forward audit evidence generated automatically.

ISO 22000 §8.9.3

Unfinished Batch Tracker

Unfinished batches are parked in a dedicated queue and completed later — preserving the partial record. Prevents data gaps from interrupted production runs. Supports corrective action traceability under ISO 22000:2018 §8.9.3.

ISO 22000 §8.4 · SALSA §4.2

Real-Time Stock Management

Ingredient and packaging stock levels update automatically after every delivery and production run. Colour-coded dashboard (green / amber / red). Automated email low-stock alerts fire the moment stock crosses your set threshold.

ISO 22000 §8.5 · HACCP

PIN-Protected Recipe Library

Recipe library with ingredient percentages and critical limits (pH min / target / max) per product. PIN-protected to prevent unauthorised modification. Every recipe change is logged with timestamp and user attribution.

ISO 22000 §7.5 · SALSA §3.2

User Accountability

Every production record, delivery, and shipment is timestamped and linked to a named, authenticated team member. Full production log grouped by batch and user. Supports multi-user environments with individual login credentials.

ISO 22000 §9.1 · SALSA §3.6

Consumption Reporting

Consolidated view of ingredient usage across all batches. Filterable and exportable. Supports internal audit preparation, stock reconciliation, and evidence gathering for SALSA §3.6 internal audit requirements.

What each standard
requires — and how we meet it

Batch & Bottle does not replace your food safety management system. It is the digital backbone that makes it auditable. Below is exactly how each standard is supported across the full platform.

SALSA Standard Issue 6
OPRP · §4.2 · §3.2 · §3.6

Safe & Local Supplier Approval

Built by a SALSA-certified cocktail producer specifically to address OPRP traceability — the prerequisite programme auditors test annually. Live lot code records, one-step-back and forward traceability, stock control accountability, and internal audit evidence are all generated automatically by the platform.

ISO 22000:2018
§8.5 · §8.8 · §8.9.3 · §8.9.5 · §7.5

Food Safety Management Systems

Supports OPRP monitoring documentation at batch level, including pH critical limit enforcement, corrective action notes for out-of-range batches, timestamped production records with user attribution, and full documented information management. Every batch record satisfies §7.5 documentation requirements.

ISO 22005:2007
§4.2 · §4.3 · §4.4 · §4.5

Traceability in the Feed & Food Chain

Implements one-step-back and one-step-forward traceability at every stage. Supplier identification at delivery intake (§4.2), material flow documentation through FIFO Julian lot codes (§4.3), traceability procedures linking delivery to batch to shipment (§4.4), and nonconformity records (§4.5).

EU Regulation 178/2002
Article 18 · Retained in UK law

General Food Law — Traceability

The general food law traceability obligation (retained in UK law post-Brexit) requires food businesses to identify any person who has supplied a food or substance. The platform’s intake-to-shipment traceability chain directly satisfies the Article 18 obligation — one step back, one step forward, at every stage.

BRCGS Food Safety Issue 9
§3.9 · §3.11 · §4.4 · §4.9.1

Brand Reputation Through Compliance

Traceability, batch documentation, and production record functionality aligns with BRCGS traceability requirements (§3.9), corrective and preventive action records (§3.11), internal audit evidence (§4.4), and production records (§4.9.1). Supports producers preparing for or maintaining BRCGS certification.

FSSC 22000 / Codex HACCP
CCP/OPRP monitoring

HACCP & Critical Limit Monitoring

The system’s CCP/OPRP monitoring records and pH critical limit enforcement align with FSSC 22000 (built on ISO 22000 + ISO/TS 22002-1) and Codex Alimentarius HACCP documentation requirements. pH records with min/target/max enforcement provide the critical limit monitoring evidence both frameworks require.

Important: Compliance with the above standards is the responsibility of the food business using the platform. Certification under any standard is held by the food business, not by CHSK Ltd as a software provider. CHSK Ltd does not guarantee a successful audit outcome as a result of using the Service.

Batch & Bottle is a web-based production management and food safety compliance SaaS platform built specifically for UK cocktail and drink producers. It was built by CHSK Ltd, a SALSA-certified cocktail bottling operation. Every feature was included to satisfy a specific SALSA auditor requirement. If you produce bottled drinks — cocktails, cordials, sauces, mixers — and need to satisfy SALSA OPRP traceability requirements, Batch & Bottle was built for you.

When a SALSA assessor tests your OPRP traceability record, they will ask you to demonstrate one-step-back traceability (which supplier delivered this ingredient, what lot code, when) and one-step-forward traceability (which production batches used this lot, which customers received those batches, when). Batch & Bottle generates this evidence automatically as you work. A query that used to take an hour now takes under 60 seconds.

Subscriptions start from £79.99/month for Tier 1 Essentials (5 user seats, all modules, customer-managed backups). Tier 2 Professional is £99.99/month (10 seats, CHSK-managed weekly backups, 2 hrs support). Tier 3 Enterprise is £149.99/month (15 seats, 5 hrs support, custom domain). All tiers include every platform module. Additional seats are £7.99/user/month. There is no minimum contract term.
